Puppets Puppets Everywhere!
The girls have been doing a great job in puppetry class. They have been showing off their creative side producing puppet shows and making puppets.
The past week flew by and we learned a lot along the way!
We have traveled to two different countries, which include India and Indonesia. We learned about and made rod puppets from India, and shadow puppets from Indonesia. The girls put on two puppet shows following the story lines of two folk tales from these countries. They even made their own shadow puppet boxes to perform the play :) They impressed themselves with this!
We have been making a few "girly" puppets during our class as well, including stick doll puppets and colorful butterflies.
The girls have been using their geography skills and labeling these countries on a map and finding them on the globe. The girls even showed an interest in learning the flags of the countries.
With the help of Ms. Haley and Ms. Coco we made an airplane, where the girls travel to these different countries. They have taken them on a few bumpy rides ;)
Next week we will continue our journey and visit more countries!
The girls will be putting on a puppet show, directly following the Alice In Wonderland Musical on June 27th. This should only last up to 30 minutes.
